Bio
I am an executive coach and leadership consultant passionate about helping professionals and organizations create lives and organizations that matter. Prior to my career pivot into consulting, I spent 5 years coaching and working in higher education supporting MBA students. Before that, I have over 15 years of experience in human resources and marketing in retail and telecommunications. This experience, combined by my eclectic interests and curiosity, informs the multidisciplinary, system and evidence-based approach of the strategies I recommend.
I care about using a multidisciplinary approach such as technology, arts and culture, appreciative inquiry, design thinking, systems thinking to reinvent conventional leadership and organizational development practices, and applying positive psychology to improve the resilience of young people and our workforce as a way to create a thriving community and combat the impact of mental illness.
Building a more just, equitable and sustainable world is important to me. In addition to continuously honing my craft as an executive coach and leadership expert, I also have been developing my expertise in cultivating responsible leadership and addressing our sustainability challenges through psychological science, mainly a confluence of positive psychology, organizational psychology and environmental psychology.
My coaching areas of expertise include:
- Resilience, career reinvention, storytelling, identity, meaning & purpose, values
- Organization: Culture (organization's values and purpose), talent and leadership development, emotional intelligence, Appreciative Inquiry
Having spent the first 20 years of my life in Shantou and Shanghai, China, I am now based in Vancouver, Canada and serve clients in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and my native dialect Chiu Chow (Teochew).
When I am not working, you will find me globe-trotting, singing my heart out in local karaoke joints, or getting lost in unique neighbourhoods taking street photos.
